Usually grown as a spring annual plant, Stactice (Limonium sinuatum) are great for creating accents and colour in your garden or potted garden. Statice are a favourite with kids with their everlasting, paper-textured flowers which are available in a vibrant selection of colours. They are beautiful cut flowers and will add vibrance to any room in your house

How to grow statice in a garden

  1. Fill starter pots or trays with Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix. Sow seeds to a depth of 6 mm, cover, firm down and water well. Keep the soil moist so the seeds don’t dry out.
  2. While the seedlings are growing, choose a spot in the garden that receives full sun and prepare the planting area well by digging in Yates Dynamic Lifter Organic Plant Food.
  3. Allow the seedlings to grow to at least 5 cm before transplanting.
  4. When transplanting them into your prepared garden bed, ensure seedlings are well spaced – at least 30-40 cm apart. Water in well with diluted Yates Thrive Natural Seaweed Tonic to help reduce transplant shock and promote root growth.
  5. Mulch with an organic mulch, such as bark chips, woodchip or pea straw.
  6. Feed regularly during the growing and flowering season with Yates Thrive Rose & Flower Granular Plant Food. TIP: For an added boost, apply Yates Thrive Fish Blood & Bone Plant Food Concentrate.
