Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus) are known as the ‘Giants’ of the summer flowering annuals. This is due to their large, bright yellow flowers that can grow up to 35 cm wide on a tall branching plant that can reach up to 1.5 metres high! If stretched for space, there are dwarf varieties available, so you can still get the bright colours of these flowers in a small area.
