Elegant Achillea ‘The Pearl’ has a spreading, mounding habit with airy clusters of pure white double pompom blooms. A classic choice as an informal ground cover or in cottage gardens, it’s a gorgeous cut flower and a great alternative to gypsophila. Renowned for being a vigorous grower, drought and frost resistant. A close relative to the herb Yarrow; commonly known as Fair-Maid-of-France or Sneezewort.
How
Press lightly (as seeds need light to germinate) into trays of Yates® Black Magic® Seed Raising Mix. Firm down and water with a fine mist spray. Transplant when large enough to handle.
Care
Choose a sunny, well-drained position. Mix Yates® Thrive® Natural Blood & Bone into soil before planting and apply Yates® Thrive® Flower & Fruit Soluble Fertiliser fortnightly. Protect from snails and slugs.
Hint
Cut back faded blooms to prolong flowering. Divide clumps every three to five years. Not suitable for planting around grazing livestock - toxic to horses and ruminants.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct Sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
