These striking, fully double, dahlia-flowered blooms on 1.2m tall stems provide a dazzling spectacle of scarlet, yellow, cherry, orange and fuschia pink throughout the warmer months. Use in the garden to create a backdrop of cheerful mixed hues, or indoors in a vase for a pop of bright colour. Butterflies and other pollinators adore zinnia flowers.
Sow direct where they are to grow when soil is warm, or in trays of Yates® Black Magic® Seed Raising Mix. Firm down, keep moist through germination and transplant when seedlings are large enough to handle.
Choose a well-drained, sunny, wind-sheltered position. Mix Yates® Thrive® Natural Blood & Bone into soil before planting and feed regularly with Yates® Thrive® Flower & Fruit Soluble Fertiliser. Protect from snails and slugs.
Transplant carefully as seedlings resent root disturbance. Mulch around base of plants to retain soil moisture. Pinching out first buds will encourage branching. Remove spent flowers to prolong display.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct Sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
