These crazy gourds grow in the weirdest dinosaur shapes you can imagine. They're all warty! They have super long necks! You can make your own eyes and teeth for them, and you have an instant dinosaur. If you dry the gourds, they last for ages and you can paint on them to make them even better. Grow a bunch of them, and let the dinosaur battles begin!
For early sowing, raise in pots of Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix in a well-lit, protected spot. Transplant after 3-4 weeks. For direct sowing, press 3-4 seeds into mounds of moist soil 1m apart. Later thin to the two strongest plants.
Select a sunny, well-drained position. Add compost and Yates Thrive Natural Blood & Bone before planting. Sow beside trellis or support for the vines to climb, or allow them to trail on the ground. Provide growing plants with plenty of water at root level, keeping leaves dry. Apply Yates Thrive Soluble Flower & Fruit Fertiliser regularly. Protect from snails and slugs.
Harvest gourds when they develop their full colours and the stalk turns brown. Make sure to keep some stem on the gourd to prevent rot.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
