Wharariki inhabits New Zealand's most precarious coastal cliffs, making it ideal for exposed, windy or dry gardens. Prolific long spikes of spring to summer flowers attract bees and native birds.
Fill a seed tray with Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix. Press mix firmly into tray; water and allow to drain. Sow seed and cover lightly with seed raising mix. Place tray in a warm, shady, sheltered place and mist with water, as required, to keep moist (not wet).
Spring, Autumn. Germination times of native seeds vary from 2 weeks to several months. Once seedlings are 3-5cm high, transplant into small individual pots. Grow on untill a root ball establishes and transplant into the garden or containers.
Cold treatment and growing in a greenhouse will enhance germination. Apply Yates Blitzem to protect young seedlings from snails and slugs.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct Sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
