Hey everyone, let's have a BEAN RACE! Humongous MegaPods produce absolutely enormous beans, perfect for a high-stakes grow-off! The pods are deliciously tasty if you harvest them at normal size, but if you leave a couple on the plant to keep growing, prepare to be astounded. The world record was set in 1996 by Harry Hurley, with a mighty 122cm bean - are you feeling lucky?
How
Sow beside trellis or support (up to 2m) direct where they are to grow, in well drained, damp soil. Cover with Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix and firm down. Do not water for a couple of days after sowing. Best results are achieved when soil temperature is consistently above 20 degrees C.
Care
Grow in a Sunny, well drained position. For best results prepare soil by digging in Yates Thrive Natural Blood & Bone and begin applying Yates Thrive Flower & Fruit Soluble Plant Food when flower buds form. Protect from snails and slugs.
Hint
Avoid overwatering - seeds may rot before germination if soil is too wet. Avoid sowing too early, or sowing into hard, compacted soil. Position trellis running north to south for maximum Sunlight.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct Sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
