An intensely hot chilli, rated 100,000–350,000 on the Scoville scale. Habaneros produce small, bell-shaped fruit, which are scarlet red at maturity. Originally from the Caribbean, (try it in Jamaican jerk sauce) the Habanero's extreme heat and floral aroma is a favourite in spicy Tex-Mex foods like salsas, chili & fajitas.
Sow direct in warm conditions or raise in trays of Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix. Firm down and keep moist. Transplant when 5cm high.
Grow in full Sun. Enrich soil with Yates Thrive Natural Blood & Bone before planting. Continuous harvest promotes new growth. Protect plants from snails and slugs.
Can be eaten green but will become hotter as chillis mature. Great companion plant for basil, marjoram and parsley. After handling seed or fruit, wash hands well to avoid irritating skin or eyes
Store in a cool dry place away from direct Sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
