This scrambling heirloom native vegetable has a similar taste and texture to spinach. It's great to use as a leafy green in dishes just like spinach, if it's blanched or cooked before eating. It thrives in hot and dry weather, and can be harvested for months.
Sow direct where they are to grow. Kokihi may be sown into a low mound or beside a trellis for support. Cover seeds with Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix, firm down and keep moist through germination.
Choose a Sunny position with well drained soil. Add Yates Thrive Natural Blood & Bone before planting and apply Yates Thrive Vegie & Herb Liquid Plant Food every weeks. Protect from snails and slugs.
Pre-chill the seeds in refrigerator for 24 hours before sowing. Pick fresh leaves as required.
