This high yielding, disease tolerant variety produces round medium-sized fruit, with pretty deep red flesh and distinctive green tiger-striped skin. A high sugar content gives the luscious, juicy flesh an extra-sweet taste that makes a refreshing late Summer treat. Try it in salads, paired with salty feta cheese - delicious!

How
For early sowing, raise in pots of Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix in a well-lit, protected spot. Transplant after 3-4 weeks. For direct sowing press 3-4 seeds into raised mounds of moist soil 1.5m apart. Later thin to the two strongest plants.
Care
Select a Sunny, well-drained position with plenty of space to grow. Add compost and Yates Thrive Natural Blood & Bone before planting. Keep well watered until fruit starts to ripen, then reduce watering to sweeten before picking. Harvest when underside turns yellow and the fruit gives a dull, hollow sound when tapped. Protect from snails and slugs with Yates Blitzem.
Hint
Great companion plant for corn. To reduce risk of disease keep leaves dry by watering at the base of plant or in the mornings.
Storage
Store in a cool dry place away from direct Sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
