As you were all aware we have been running a Mini Challenge to encourage you all to get to know each other. The strong community feel is what makes this a fab place to hang out and share all your gardening successes, dramas, and encouragements. The other fab thing is there are prizes to be won! This first Mini Challenge came to an end on Friday and over the weekend the team at Yates have crunched all the details and come up with some winners. As hard as it was for you all to just pick one, it was really hard to choose the winners. If it was up to me, you’d all get one. But there were only 6 prize packs to be given out and so after a lot of deliberation our winners of the first Mini Challenge are:
Drum roll please:
· Gardening with the Dillons nominating Mrs Muddy Toes
· ruGrew nominating The Flower Lady
· Jen nominating McLittin's Garden
Congratulations.
Now I do have to ask that the winners of the prize packs have a little patience as the prizes are currently locked away at Yates… in the heart of Level 4. There is a chance they will be able to be sent out during level 3, but there is a possibility due to health and safety they may not be able to be sent until Level 2. But in this day and age it is what it is.
Now we like giving you the opportunity to win prizes here in the Vegie Growing Community so today we have launched the 2nd Mini Challenge Two: Plan for Success.
We hope this challenge will help improve your gardening success as well being in to win one of 3 amazing prize packs.
What we are looking for is for you to show us the plans you have made for your gardens. If you don’t know where to start with garden planning check out my last blog post >FRIDAY TOP TIPS – Making Plans< and feel free to ask questions if you want some more help getting the most out of your garden space.
It doesn’t matter how you make your plan – on paper using pens or pencils, on the computer or with an app on your phone. So long as you have a plan and can show it to us, and you can tell us all about it and how you got there.
This challenge only runs for two weeks from the 20th September to the 1st October 2021 so don’t miss out. As usual make a blog post with the heading Mini Challenge Two and use the Mini Challenge tick box so we know you want to be considered for the prize. And it is optional and won’t affect the overall winners to the Vegie Growing Challenge.
To find out all the details for this Mini Challenge click on the ‘What’s Going On’ heading or the image above it on the main Vegie Growing Community page.
I would encourage you to check there regularly for updated news or anything you need to know about the challenge, winner lists, and all the full details of the Mini Challenges being held. If you are unfamiliar with navigating the community, you can get there from >HERE<.
As for me and my garden I will still be plodding along trying to be spring ready. I was aiming to be spring ready for the 1st September meteorological start to spring and worked hard all winter but didn’t quite get there. But with the Astrological start of spring with the equinox this week I get a second chance to be spring ready for a start to spring. And it would seem time is on my side this year as normally the equinox falls on the 20th or the 21st but this year it would seem it is on the 23rd – which means I have until Thursday to finish all my last-minute winter tasks! Not to mention Daylight Savings starts on Sunday so there will be even more time available for the garden!
Happy gardening and as always – if you want to get in touch leave a comment below.
