I'm not sure that I would eat them at breakfast time but Yates French Breakfast radishes have been a staple in our garden every spring. Super Husband always asks in September "Have you got radishes in yet?"
He loves their crisp, slightly hot flavour in our salads. So I checked my little row this afternoon thinking they have only just got their second leaves - and I found this wee harvest of tasty treats.
We had Greek inspired shredded pork in pita pockets with thinly sliced lettuce, cucumber and carrot for dinner tonight, a sprinkling of thinly sliced radishes on top added a spicy bit of something special.
Radishes are a wonderful vegetable for kids to grow because they mature so fast... they're also great for old folks like us who just love the crunch and the flavour.
