My big planting out day is yet to come, as in Dunedin we plant out our cucurbits and tomatoes in mid to late November. I’ve been pondering on my runner beans but decided to wait with planting these until mid-November too. We had close to 2 degrees the other night, and I’m just not keen to risk it.
The Labour weekend was underwhelming in terms of gardening, as we went away for some ‘brave’ camping in Catlins. ‘Brave’ camping was such not only due to low night temperatures but also due to our MSR stove breaking and setting itself on fire (half a litre of fuel on fire all at once is quite a sight). The fright of my life. Can’t say it was a boring weekend :)
Looks like most gardening jobs will be waiting for a while as its set to rain for over a week now. Perhaps its time for me to give some attention to my indoor plants. Does anyone have any rainy gardening task ideas?
