I'm not a tall person. On a 'standing up straight' good day I'm around 5 foot 1 and a 1/2 inches. I have no idea what that is in metres because I'm a child of the 60's.
But I love that plants that I grew by seed just a few months ago are now towering over me, it assures me I must be doing something right for them.
This is a picture of me (dressed in my garden gear) in amongst my sweet peas and broad beans. They're way more attractive than me and I only agreed to have my photo taken by SH to show how tall my big babies are getting.
The broad beans are just starting to bear little beans which I know will double in size within the next few weeks.
The sweet peas have some tiny buds on them - I can't wait for the fragrance which every year for me evokes memories of so many gardens in my past - my Mum's, my Nanna's, my aunties... all beautiful women whose memory I treasure.
There is something about fragrance which makes memories all the clearer.
So here I am dwarfed by these beautiful monsters in my garden looking forward to another growing season, and this is just the beginning.
