What a busy old week I've had, and it's not over yet! Miss 5 in a few days had her last school visit today, and also had her farewell at kindy. Not going to lie, there were a few tears from me shed today!
Little Miss is always eager to help in the garden, and actually likes to help us in general with anything (most of the time). Although it would of been quicker to do the transplanting myself, and I was in a hurry, I set her the task of filling up the pots with soil and watering them. While I labeled (go me!) and got myself organised.
She was so pleased with her efforts, and chuffed that I was lagging behind in my jobs when she had finished hers, that I had to create some more jobs for her.
It reminded me why I started growing my own food - for my family.
Not only to provide them with nourishing food and to save us money. It's also about building memories with your kids, teaching them valuable lessons that will last a lifetime, and spending quality time with them while chatting away.
I am so pleased I showed some patience today among a hectic week!
