My best winter salad crop this year would have to be Treviso Radicchio.
It is kind of like a bitter version of cos lettuce.
It totally loves a frost, and has moved through the winter from green to red. I have just kept picking the outside leaves and it just keeps on growing.
Tear the leaf off the stem and toss together with a bit of rocket, cress, winter cos and miners’ lettuce and a squirt of flax seed oil. YUM.
I’d be keen to hear what did well in others gardens over winter!?
