Lots of clean up chores to be done in our garden.
Top up the glasshouse plant boxes and tidy it up generally. I need to make better use of the glasshouse in winter. It was dormant this year. Its just so cold to garden over winter down here in Wellington. Beetroot and carrots basically the only thing that carries through winter. Some cauliflower success too but the white butterfly/caterpillars probably enjoyed more of those plants than we did!! I'm keeping the neighbourhood fed 😂🦋
Things are basically ready for planting anyway, but really still way too cold for planting anything out yet! I'm aiming for Labour weekend again I think but this year keeping my summer seedlings in the house rather than glasshouses for longer than usual - hoping they get me more successful summer crops by nurturing them longer indoors. We will see if thats the winning formula soon!
Next up - spuds have been chitting - so they need to be planted if I want them for Christmas!!! Am I the only one that left the planting a little late with these???
