Working in the wind is brutal but if I don't cut the flowers and get them to market I don't get paid so that's what I did this morning , I took in euphorbia, Dutch iris , cornflowers , hellerbours , sweet William , forget me knot and teasel .
But the oh no for the day was the discovery of a small green bettle , not a stink bug that I learnt about 3 years ago although an hour of google kept telling me it was , it's much smaller flys and was found sucking the life out of my Perennial cornflowers , the critter is a Lilly Pilly bettle which are relatively new to New Zealand, how it got here I have no idea , but now I have yet another pest to deal with , I will soak the plants with a baking soda and water mixes that will hopefully wash them out and chuck them in boiling water once found .
