This dwarf pea produces abundant, well-filled pods. Growing to approximately 60 cm high, this variety is an ideal option for a child’s first garden, or for pots, raised beds and smaller gardens. Crisp and sweet, enjoy straight out of the pod or cook until tender.
Choose a sunny, well-drained position. Before planting mix Yates Thrive Natural Garden Lime and Yates Thrive Natural Blood & Bone into the soil. Sow into damp soil where they are to grow. Cover with Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix and firm down. Do not water for a couple of days after sowing. Dwarf peas do not need a trellis to climb on.
For best results begin applying Yates Thrive Flower & Fruit Soluble Fertiliser when flower buds form. Pick young peas regularly for maximum yield and flavour. Protect from snails and slugs.
Great companion plant for beans, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, celery, lettuce and radish. Avoid overwatering seeds, may rot before germination if soil is too wet. Water at base of plant, rather than overhead, to minimise risk of disease. At end of harvest, dig spent plants into the soil to add extra organic nitrogen.
