I started my edible flower journey last year and its been really fun I have grown and learnt even more and am enjoying learning .
I have begun drying them as they hold the colour well and it gives a lovely touch to platters , pies , salads , cakes etc .
One thing that had frustrated me in the past was the season was just not long enough to get a decent harvest from my cape gooseberries , but I have cracked the code , I just let it go crazy over winter in the tunnel house and am able to pick a bucket load every couple of days ,
Sadly though I am battling the horrid whitefly , they will not win .
The other thing that I have had huge fails with in the past is citrus , but our lemon tree planted in front of our water tank so its safe from frosts and easy to water well , so I added the orange and lemon that my family gave me a few years back that had been in pots to the gaps and they are thriving , no more bugs , no drying out and they are setting fruit , although very small and I will have to thin to protect the trees from breaking , I feel its a huge happy dance success .
Oh and I had to add a pic of some of this weeks flowers <3
