There isn't much gardening job wise I don't like, I even find weeding relaxing and satisfying. But I do not enjoy cleaning punnets and pots one little bit. And I'm sure it's most peoples least favourite job too.
Thats what I've been busy doing this morning, after I got the rest of the plants into the garden I didn't quite get finished yesterday.
But as we all know it's a very important step and can't be missed in case you spread disease to the next lot of seedlings.
This is how I do it. I scrub them with water, leave them to dry, then spray with white vinegar, and leave them to dry again, before another spray with water. Then leave them in the sun to completely dry. I'm not sure the last spray of water is required?
I also have been cleaning tags, I use the white plastic ones, which I try and stay away from too much plastic, but I re-use them over and over again. I've found jiff and elbow grease works the best. And if I'm really lucky, the vivid has already been washed off from the rain! I only use tags in the garden if I direct sow seeds, more to remind myself not to plant anything else there!
Everytime I do these jobs I think to myself - next time I'll clean them as I go, but it never happens.
